Notification Filters are a powerful tool you can use to filter out (block) notifications for jobs you don't want to be bothered with. You can filter by any thing that usually appears in your job offers including shift type (half day, full day). Please note, entering the wrong thing for a filter may have unintended consequences, such as filtering out more jobs than you expect. Review the examples below to familiarize yourself with how filters work.

This feature is available only on the SubAssistant Premium subscription plan

To set up Notification Filters

  1. Open the SubAssistant app or sign in at SubAssistant.com
  2. Select FILTERS & NOTIFICATON FILTERS
  3. Under Notification Filters select the Add Filter button
  4. Select the type of thing (location, name, position, shift type) you want to filter
  5. In the filter text field, enter the text you want to SubAssistant to look for when deciding which notifications to filter out (suppress).
  6. Select the Save & Close button to close the box or Save & New if you want to immediately create another filter

⚠️
IMPORTANT

It's very important the text you enter matches exactly what appears in your notifications. We recommend looking at some of your past notifications to see how the thing you want to filter is written. Entering too little or too broad text can result in more jobs being filtered out than you want. Filters are very helpful, but very powerful. Examples:

Let say you want to see notifications for only full day jobs. Follow the instructions above and for the type of filter, select Shift Type. Three new options appear: Full, Half AM, and Half PM. Keeping in mind that these filters are for filtering out notifications we don't want, we need to create two filters. One for Half AM and another for Half PM. Select Half AM then the Save & New button. Follow the same instructions, but select Half PM this time, then Save & Close. You now have two filters that will suppress notifications for all half-day jobs, leaving only notifications for full day assignments.

Perhaps there's a school site called Castle Rock Elementary that's too far away, so you don't accept job assignments from there. Follow the instructions above and for the type of filter, select Location. For filter text, type in Castle Rock Elementary. Finally, select the Save & Close button. You now have one filter that will keep you from being bothered with job notifications from that school.

Maybe you just don't get along with 6th grade students. Looking at your past notifications, you see that your district formats their position names like TEACHER THIRD GRADE, TEACHER-PE, or TEACHER SIXTH GRADE. Follow the instructions above and for the type of filter, select Position. For the filter text, type in TEACHER SIXTH GRADE. Now, select the Save & Close button. You've just added one filter that'll keep jobs from sixth grade teachers away from you.
